Astoria is Having a Pajama Party – At CAVO!

On October 28th,  CAVO Lounge is having their fifth annual PJ Drive to support the Pajama Program!

Pajama Program’s mission is to provide New Pajamas and New Books to children in need.

Many of the children Pajama Program serve are waiting and hoping to be adopted. These children live in various situations including group homes, shelters and temporary housing facilities and are shuffled often from one place to another. Many of them have been abandoned, abused or neglected. Most of these children have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at bedtime with warm, clean pajamas and a bedtime story. Some of the children they serve are living with their families below the poverty level, in desperate need of food, clothing and shelter.

Every year, local resident Maria L. Delgado coordinates this awesome event to bring together Astorians to help children in need. The space and all the food, as well as the cash bar, are graciously donated by Tommy Demaras – owner of CAVO Restaurant and Lounge.

This year, Assemblymember Aravella Simotas will be co-hosting the night with Maria and Tommy – and the trio are sure to make it a fun-filled fundraiser!

ALL the new pajamas and books collected, as well as the entirety of the funds raised from the raffles, will go directly to The Pajama Program. These donations will help further their mission in providing new pajamas and/or books to children in need – not only here in NYC, but throughout the entire country.

So come out and support a phenomenal cause, Astoria – the kids need you!
