New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced an increase in fines for those violating social distancing orders.
Those who do not comply by remaining 6 feet apart from others should be prepared to pay a $1,000 fine. The previous fine amount was set at $500.
During the press conference, the Governor even used a photo of Astoria Park as an example of crowded areas in the state not complying with social distancing orders. Additionally, Governor Cuomo announced an extension of New York’s PAUSE order with the closure of schools and non-essential businesses through April 29th.
