Just a few days ago, Betty Jean Bibiaso’s life was tragically cut short. A drunk driver killed her as she crossed an intersection in Astoria – a tragedy felt throughout the neighborhood.

 

 

Now, the driver has turned himself in. 24-year-old Nicholas Colleran mowed down the 21-year-old with his Chevy Impala, and continued to drive on. Colleran waited nearly an hour to call 911 – but instead reported that his car had been stolen.

 

The truth soon came out when Colleran turned himself in – after police discovered the severely damaged vehicle. He stated he had concocted the story  – and had hit and killed Betty Jean. Police reports state that he said he had two beers.
