A little over five years ago, two brothers found themselves working at a local pharmacy as a means to get by. That “means to an end” mentality quickly shifted to passion in no time, leading one brother, Michael, to go ahead and purchase one of, if not the oldest, pharmacies in Astoria: Strand Pharmacy. With the help of his brother, Artur, this local business continues its 100+-year legacy as a genuine Astoria staple.

The previous owner had already developed loyal relationships with his customers, with some being pharmacy regulars for 40, 50, and 60 years. After buying the business five years ago, those seeds continue to grow while new ones are planted. “We know what it’s like to work hard, what it’s like to struggle, just like everyone else.
