LET’S GIVE THESE GUYS A WARM WELCOME, SHALL WE?!
New kids on the block
We’re back with our latest segment, “New Kids on the Block,” to tell you all about the new places popping up in our beloved neighborhood this summer. Are you ready?
La Dulce Cultura
The beautiful outdoor mural is the first thing you’ll notice at this new gem, reminiscent of the Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos. It’s been in the making for a while and we can’t wait to get our fill of their Mexican cuisine with a modern twist, which includes gluten-free and vegan churros, plus Mexican-inspired cupcakes with a variety of flavors. Not to mention they’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yum!

Artisan Gastro Food & Juice
This place is exactly what we needed! All of their products are antibiotic-free, USDA and SQF-certified, delivered fresh daily, and you can even choose between gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, or paleo meals. The emphasis is on healthy, yummy food that comes at an affordable price. They also serve delicious smoothies and juices to complete those offerings, and something to look forward to: Artisan will soon add an exciting breakfast and coffee menu for all you early birds out there!

Tacombi
After making their rounds throughout the city, Tacombi has finally opened their 10th location right here in the heart of Queens, and we couldn’t be happier! Deemed the best taco place in the city, it’s perfect for a leisurely lunch, quick take-out, or even a dinner spot to end your day. Personally, we recommend their Baja Crispy Fish Taco, Corn Esquites or Avocado Tostadas.

These Are the Good Old Days
This is a casual café that’s easy to miss if you don’t know where to look! It’s an amazing hangout spot to relax and have some coffee and hard-to-beat breakfast sandwiches. Their super unique and comfy seating selection will have you there for hours, especially if you book a large party (up to 30 guests!) ahead of time! Their back patio is also perfect for a low-key happy hour, since soon, their offerings will include beer and wine, so stay tuned!

Streat Kings NYC
“Take to the streets” with Streat Kings’ mouthwatering burgers and sandwiches, like their Baconeggncheese, Pork Gyro, and Hot Honey Fried Chicken. Or, you can dabble in lighter fare like their Shrimp Rangoon, Tostones Nachos, or salads. They’re even vegan-friendly! People are going nuts for this food truck and understandably so; every item is a must-try. Get over there before the line fills up and make sure to bring cash!

Selo
Open since late June, the Croatian and Serbian cuisine here hits the exotic spot for local foodies. While their options are essentially endless, signature dishes include Karadjordjeva, a stuffed veal schnitzel, and their Fuzi Pasta dish, which is served with veal ragu. We dare you to find better comfort food on a rainy day.
