‘New York On Location’ At Kaufman Astoria Studios

If you've ever wondered what it was like to be on a movie set, wonder no longer. This May 22nd, the Museum of the Moving Image, Theatrical Teamsters Local 817, I.A.T.S.E, Local 52 and Kaufman Astoria Studios are giving you the chance to experience what goes on behind the curtain. 

New York on Location is a free family-friendly street fair which will give New Yorkers a glimpse at the behind-the-scenes of film production. 

Some of the fun will include :

  • 20+ working movie trailers and trucks
  • Awesome stunt performers demostrating street fighting, high-falls, stunt-driving and more…
  • Makeup and hair demos
  • Weather effects such as snow and rain
  • Conversations with movie professionals about life on set
  • and more…

There will be food and drinks available from movie catering tucks and treat trucks for the kiddies. 

The fun begins at 11AM and will go through to 5PM at the Kaufman Astoria Studios backlot (36 Street, between 34 & 35 Ave), Museum of the Moving Image (36-01 35 Ave), and surrounding streets—at the heart of the Kaufman Arts District in Astoria, Queens, NY.

Where: Kaufman Astoria Studios Backlot (36 Street, between 34 & 35 Ave), Museum of the Moving Image (36-01 35 Ave), and surrounding streets—at the heart of the Kaufman Arts District in Astoria, Queens, NY.

Price: Admission is free to New York on Location and to the Museum all day.
