The votes have been cast are the results weighed, for the 2016 Participatory Budgeting. Last year we saw the Budget bringing us a dog par along with many playground upgrades, and this year it would seem to have gone to 3 quite different causes.

The winning Participatory Budgeting projects are:

1. New Water Fountains in Astoria Park ($500,000) – 709 votes
2. Picnic/Gaming Tables Installation in Astoria Park ($250,000) – 704 votes
3. Bus Countdown Clocks ($480,000) – 682 votes

Councilman Costa Constantinides thanked everyone who took the time and volunteered throughout ‪#‎PBNYC‬ and everyone who voted for the local projects they wanted to receive city capital funding.

As with the winning projects from last year, city agencies will seek further community input, put together designs, and go through planning stages before construction begins.

Constantinides also stated that "we will continue to work with city agencies and community stakeholders as these capital projects are implemented".
