Another New Development Coming To Astoria
Plans were recently filed with the Department of Buildings by developer George Elliott, in regards to the new project slated for 30-70 38th Street.
If you drive past right now, you will be able to see two houses which sit almost side by side. If everything goes to plan, they will be demolished, and a new five-story building with 23 apartments will take their place, according to Yimby.
A problem which may slow the project down, is the fact the the two properties currently occupying the space, are actually in different zoning districts. The all clear will be given by the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP), after which, the T.F Cusanelli and Filletti Architects-designed building will begin.
The project will also consist of:
– Bike Storage
– Parking Garage
– Recreational Room
However, the trek to the public transportation may hinder peoples interest in the apartments, as it's about seven blocks away.
