“We all have baggage; some of us talk about it on stage” is the motto of Talk Therapy Stories + Open Mic, a monthly storytelling show hosted by Lori Baird at QED: A Place to Show & Tell in Astoria. The show features comics, actors, storytellers, and regular folks telling true stories — sometimes funny, occasionally sad, and always compelling — related to mental health. After the featured performers, an open-mic offers audience member a chance to tell their own 6-minute true story related to mental health.

The April 9 edition of Talk Therapy Stories + Open Mic features opening comic Wilson McDermut (Caroline’s, Comic Strip Live, 2 Dudes and A Broad) and storytellers Dese’Rae Stage (Live Through This), Morgan Pielli (Pete’s Mini Zine Fest, Indestructible Universe), and Mary Regan (UCB, NYC Fringe Festival, The Adventures of Mr. Schneider).
