According to reports by the Queens Gazette, Kamel Wilder, a 26-year old Astoria resident, killed his mother’s dog for barking too much. The crime occurred at a building located at 32nd Street and Astoria Boulevard.

The man apparently became enraged at the dog, and when it wouldn’t stop barking, grabbed it and ran into the hallway. What happened next is horrible: He threw it down the building’s garbage chute.

 

 

The dog was a 1 year old Yorkshire Terrier named Chewy. Upon hearing the news, his family members reported him to the 114th precinct – where he was charged with animal cruelty and several other counts – and is facing up to seven years in prison.
