Playwright, screenwriter, and director Kenneth Lonergan will be making an appearance at Museum Of The Moving Image’s Preview Screening of

Manchester by the Sea, a film starring Casey Affleck, Michelle Williams and Lucas Hedges.

The Boston raised and Academy Award Nominated actor is best known for his roles in movies such as; Good Will Hunting, the Oceans franchise movies and Gone Baby Gone where he played Patrick Kenzie.

The film also stars Michelle Williams from films like Shutter Island Blue Valentine.

Kenneth Lonergan, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay, won the Sundance 2000 Grand Jury Prize and the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award, the NY Film Critics Circle, LA Film Critics Circle (to name a few) for You Can Count On Me, which he wrote and directed, will be at the preview screening.

The film tells the story of a somewhat stoic Boston based handyman who has to return to his Massachusetts hometown after his brothers sudden death. After returning he learns that he has to take care of his brothers teenage son. The film is a showing of harrowing memories that Casey goes through, depicted in a vivid and remarkable envisioning by Director Lonergan. From it’s cinematography to it’s screenplay, Manchester by the Sea is story enveloped by a scenic landscape and told with good precision by Lonergan.
