Tribeca Film Festival Finds a New Home in Queens
For the first time since its inception in 2002, the renown Tribeca Film Festival is shifting locations from its standard Manhattan venue to all five boroughs. Our beloved Queens is proud to announce that Rockaway Beach, Flushing Meadows Park and Astoria are all scheduled to partake in hosting the 12-day festival during its June 9th – June 20th stretch.
In addition to 200+ movie-screening events, the festival will also include talks, performances, and a final night send-off held by Radio City Music Hall for those who are fully vaccinated.
Five outdoor movie showings will take place at our very own Astoria Park via a 40-foot tall cinema screen accompanied by a waterfront view; talk about a date night.
The new venues aren’t the only firsts for Tribeca this summer; this is actually the very first in-person festival held in all of North America since the start of the pandemic, and festival organizers anticipate up to 100,000 guests throughout its duration.
“Tribeca was started to bring people together, and that’s what we aim to do again this year, to connect communities across all five boroughs and share our festival experience, safely, while supporting local businesses,” said Jane Rosenthal, Co-founder of the event.
