The team behind Astoria’s Slice, Blend, and The Social are keeping busy giving back to our healthcare heroes at this time.

While The Social was forced to temporarily close its doors, both Slice and Blend’s Astoria locations remain active to the community they call home. Thus far, the restaurant’s team has been able to donate food to hospitals in Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.

Blend Astoria is currently accepting donations for the heroes fighting COVID-19, tallying donations at the end of each day and doubling donations to send to the hospitals. Interested customers can find a link to donate to donate meals upon visiting Blend Astoria’s website.

Luis Perez, co-owner of Slice, Blend, and The Social, added that donations and customer support have greatly helped morale of the overall team at each establishment. Said Perez: “I feel bad for Astoria in general because it’s such a metropolis of different restaurants. I would love to see it go back to the way it was before all of this”.

He also added that COVID-19 struck at a particularly difficult time for restaurants to begin with, known as the quieter season of January through March. “Customers should just donate and support their favorite restaurants as much as they can” said Perez.

Give Me Astoria would like to thank Mr. Perez and the team behind Slice/The Social/Blend for their hard work and their generous donations to feeding the Mount Sinai Queens staff.
