Queens Borough President election moved to June date
The special election for Queens Borough President officially has a new date: June 23. Governor Cuomo officially announced the news yesterday in an executive order.
Earlier in the month, it was announced that the special election would be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The special election will be held to determine now-Queens District Attorney Katz’s successor.
The candidates will be the same candidates who were on the ballot for March 24th, the originally scheduled date of the election. The official nominees for Queens Borough President are City Council Member Costa Constantinides, former member of City Council Elizabeth Crowley, retired NYPD Sergeant Anthony Miranda, former Queens ADA Jim Quinn, City Council Member Donovan Richards, and corporate executive Dao Yin.
