The event will take place every Wednesday at 7PM beginning July 3rd, and running through August 21st . Admission is free and each film will be preceded with performances, dance, and food from the respective country’s origin every week.
The Outdoor Cinema International Film Festival aims to highlight the best in film from all around the world, with the showcases films ranging from Canada to the other side of the world, in Ethiopia. According to the event page on Socrates Sculpture Park’s website, parents who want to bring their children along should check the ratings for the film they want to see, as some may be inappropriate for children.
The festival is sponsored by NYC Ferry and Con Edison, with support from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, as well as the New York City Council & Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer.
