Brik Bar Lounge and Kitchen recently opened its doors in Astoria – bringing an edge to Astoria’s burgeoning club scene – and it seems to be a welcome addition. Since opening, the lounge has seen packed nights nearly every day of opening, and if lounges are your thing, then we think Brik is a cool place to check out.

Brik Bar is trying to change things up, with competitive prices and unique drinks like frozen cocktails – including frozen daiquiris and frozen margaritas. Opening now is a great idea – we’re always down for frozen drinks, especially at this time of summer – Astoria really starts heating up around August.

The menu here is pretty eclectic – you can get burgers and fries, as well as quesadillas, and lounge food like tapas and small plates. Not so sure we’d go to a lounge for a sit down dinner, but you never want to drink without some food to soak it up – so we’re glad to see the various offerings.

There’s also a whopping 23 TV’s at Brik Bar – which could either get really loud, or really great. A lot of people just aren’t into sports, and sometimes you want to go to a bar and not have to be subjected to the game that’s on for the night. For groups of varied interests, this would be awesome.

The DJ booth at Brik Bar is already being put to good use. They’ve been having guest DJ’s spinning throughout the night, and from the looks of it, people are really enjoying it.

If Astoria nightlife entices you, we definitely recommend adding Brik Bar Lounge and Kitchen to your list of places to check out. It’s guaranteed to be a fun night.
