El Lado Taco

Recently opened right on 30th Avenue, El Lado Taco aims to bring Mexico City style tacos to Queens. Serving up tacos from morning until night, Astoria’s newest Mexican eatery surely has something for everyone’s tastebuds. A big bonus is that all tortillas, whether flour or corn, are made by hand and you are sure to taste the difference. Definitely be sure to try one of El Lado’s breakfast tacos. For a Mexican twist on a New York classic, the aptly named clásico, consisting of bacon egg and jack cheese is a great start to any spring day. For later in the evening, the al pastor tacos, filled with perfectly marinated pork and pineapple are a true standout.

Honey Fitz

There’s something about happy hour during the longer spring days that make the dreary winter worth it. Opened by the team behind Jack Jones on Ditmars, Honey Fitz is Broadway’s newest cozy bar to enjoy a great cocktail. A Queens take on the classic Irish pub, Honey Fitz offers customers the chance to try a variety of Irish whiskies, Guinness, and a handful of specialty cocktails. Don’t know where to start? The signature Honey Spritz is just the right amount of sweet and refreshing, think an aperol spritz with a twist.
