After closing for a month to protect the safety and health of its employees, Chip has finally reopened its doors! The team at Chip emphasizes the importance of practicing good health practices, making sure that the work environments are clean and germ free, and that the food is handled by people in good health wearing gloves and masks.
All the cookie rolls are handmade each morning at Chip Astoria, and delivered to the other locations to be baked fresh. All the classic favorites are still available as well as the exciting new addition, Banana Nut Oat, which is to be added to the menu May 15. Customers must order online on the Chip website, with the option to pick up or have their cookies delivered. With everything pre-paid online, customers who choose to pick up only have to pop in and scoop up their prepared cookies. One tip given by Chip’s marketing director John Sanchez in regards to helping local business would be to order directly from the restaurant’s website instead of third parties such as Grubhub and Seamless, that way there are no additional fees for both the business owner and customer.
Chip has collaborated with various local businesses and organizations to donate cookies to so many local hospitals including Elmhurst, Jamaica, and Mt Sinai, with more donations in the works! “The Chip NYC team would like to thank the Astoria, LIC, West Village NYC, and surrounding communities for their support. We are proud to call Astoria our home; and of the efforts of GiveMeAstoria and all organizations that have stepped up to provide food to the frontline and help those in need.” The hope is that by spreading this message through social media, that we can keep morale high and remind people that there are better days ahead.
