Holly Jolly Drinks: This season’s hottest sips for the coldest of days

As the temperature slowly drops, we swap out our daily iced coffees for warmer drinks. Whether you are in the mood for a simple hot latte or want to try a unique seasonal drink, our local favorites have just what you need to not only warm your hands but also your heart. These cafés work hard to keep us happy, so let’s show them love this holiday season!

Flor de Azalea Café (902 34th Ave.) is a hidden gem over by Rainey Park.

This spot is definitely great to visit with the family. They provide many board games to play while you enjoy your order. This season, Flor de Azalea offers a unique hot corn latte with the option to add an espresso shot- though personally, I skip it. This creamy corn latte will introduce you to a new world of flavors. The small corn bits in the delicious frothy drink, give it a pleasant texture that will leave you wanting more.

Since I came across Kinship Coffee (23-92 21st St.) a few years back, they have expanded and opened several locations scattered in the neighborhood.

No matter which shop you visit, you will undoubtedly have a good experience- and an even better coffee! I’d definitely have to recommend their hot chai latte, as it is unmatched. Not only will the latte art put a smile on your face, but the burst of chai goodness will too. Be sure to stop by and try their deliciously roasted coffees made on their pour-steady!

Château le Woof (31-01 Vernon Blvd.) is yet another wonderful spot to enjoy with your family, especially if they are furry! This very dog-friendly joint is New York City’s very first pet market & café. Right now, they are offering a delicious pistachio cortado made with 1883 Maison Routin syrup. This cortado has a subtle yet rich taste that anyone would certainly be pleased with.

Come on down with your pup for a paw-some time!

Local bubble tea spot, The Teapsy (33-17 30th Ave.) continuously introduces new drinks and flavors to match any occasion and holiday. Their newest featured drink is the To ee Nut Tres Leches Milk Tea with Tapioca bubbles.

“The nutty, caramel flavor goes perfectly with the smooth tres leches milk tea,” as advertised on their Instagram, “It tastes more like a treat than a drink.” You must top off this delicacy with their homemade flavored whipped cream!

Words simply cannot espresso how much we all love the holidays and the delicious drinks that accompany them. What better way to celebrate the season, and support small businesses, than to pay a visit to our neighbors?
