It is with heavy hearts to share the sad news that Astoria’s ‘Sandwich King’, Charles Gordon has passed away. 

The local business owner was known around the neighborhood for serving his unique Italian-style sandwiches for decades. Sal Kris and Charlie’s will be closed, as per a post shared by their official Facebook page, from Monday, November 11th through Thursday, November 14th. 

Give Me Astoria would like to share our deepest condolences to Charles Gordon’s family, friends, and to the Sal Kris & Charlie’s community. 

In memory of Mr. Gordon, the family has kindly shared that those who wish can make a donation to St. Jude’s.
