Municipal Credit Union (MCU) awarded Astoria resident Leila Gomez the 2019 Louise DeBow Memorial Scholarship! The Cornell-bound student is one of nine recipients awarded an MCU Scholarship, and is planning to study at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the Ivy League university.

Just this year, Municipal Credit Union has awarded approximately $71,000 to high-school students: 9 memorial scholarships, and 13 grants. The yearly scholarship program is part of MCU’s commitment to children’s education throughout the New York City area. Since the start of this commitment over 20 years ago, MCU has awarded over $1 million to graduating high-school seniors. Eligibility for this year’s MCU Scholarship Program was open to MCU members, or children & grandchildren of an MCU member in good standing.
