Multiple People Shot At Astoria Apartment
NYPD officers swarmed an apartment building Monday night, after police said that four people, including a 5 year old boy, were shot and killed.
According to CBSlocal, the gunfire began around 8:30PM at an apartment building on 30th Drive and 23rd Street.
The police entered the ground floor apartment after responding to a 911 call about a man bleeding. What they found were the bodies of two (edit from men) women, a boy and a man, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea.
According to the New York Daily News, the child’s body was found in the middle of the living room, while the other bodies were close by. There was also a black semiautomatic pistol found next to the dead man.
It is not yet specified whether the police think it might be a murder-suicide, however sources say it is likely that the man shot both women and the child before turning the gun on himself.
According to Pix11, the police were seen entering the apartment with full body armor.
The investigation is under way and we will report as the facts come in.
