Korean Film Festival Kicks Off

The 13th Annual New York Korean Film Festival opens up on the 6th of November at The Museum of the Moving Image. 

The festival will bring to the foreground what Korean cinema does best: crime thrillers, romantic fantasy, and feverish erotica.  

The line up this year is a mix of both blockbuster and critical favorites. The festival will also feature an incredible group of speakers. Director Ryoo Seung-wan with producers Kang Hye-jung and Park Jung. Directors Shin Suwon (Madonna), Lee Do-yun (Confession), Kang Hyo-jin (Wonderful Nightmare), Oh Seung-uk (The Shameless), and Hong Won-chan (Office). Along with actress Ko Ah Sun (Office, The Host, Snowpiercer). 

Korean cinema has long been an unique amalgamation of genres in a rich cultural backdrop, and it's been with that vibrant look at movies that has made it one of the most influential industry in East Asia. 

This years festival is filled with love and crime, crushing partnerships, betrayal and passion. Along with resistance fighters in colonial-era Korea and hardboiled cops discovering ugly truths. 

The Festival will have 5 New York premiers.
