Bikers Against Breast Cancer!

The Bikers Against Breast Cancer event, sponsored by Shareing and Careing, is back again! Breast Cancer awareness is a huge issue, and for more than two decades the team at Shareing and Careing have been putting together the event to raise awareness, bring the community together, and create a fun event for everyone involved!

The event will involve a 30 mile escorted bike ride, tasty, local food, appearances by local politicians, and really fun games, awards and trophies! There’s always a giant turn out, and it’s a great way to spend your day, as well as show your support for those who have faced, or are facing breast cancer.

We love that this event has been going on for so long, because breast cancer is such an important issue. 1 in every 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime – it is the MOST diagnosed cancer in women, and the second leading cause of death in women. Each year, more than 220,000 women are diagnosed with cancer, with nearly 40,000 dying from it. And it’s not just women – each year, about 2,150 men are diagnosed with breast cancer, and 410 die each year. These numbers aren’t mean to scare you – but to inform you! The BEST way to defeat breast cancer is early detection. So make sure you, and all the women in your life are annually getting mammograms after the age of 40.
