This past Saturday around 4:05 am, a pedestrian was struck while walking west on 30th Avenue, according to police reports.

The victim has been identified as Mohammed Salim, 21 – who was struck after leaving Quays Pub, at 45-02 30th Ave.

Police are hoping the surveillance footage from the bar will help identify the driver.

The car, after striking Salim, kept on going – and four men ran past him, seeming to appear from the car. To those watching the accident, it looked like it was done with intent.

Salim now has a broken leg and a concussion, and has been at Elmhurst Hospital Center as of Tuesday night.

Police are currently uncertain of why Salim could have been targeted – finding no indication that he actually was targeted, despite how it may have seemed.

Either way, the driver needs to be found, and police are urging anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577 – TIPS, visit the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 27437 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
