Astoria Park Spring Movies Start With La La Land

It’s about that time of the year when the sun starts shining just a little bit brighter, the people smile just a little bit more, and Astoria Park becomes a treasure trove of events, activities and fun.

This year, Astoria Park Alliance (APA) has teamed up with Benedict Realty Group (BRG) for this years Movies Under the Stars. APA will also be giving out Movie Night blankets to the first 50 attendees. Luckily all movie goers will be given popcorn, thanks to the partnership.

Movies Under the Stars started with a desire to screen movies late into Spring, when the weather in New York begins to get comfortable and the nights are cool.

What movie do you want to see Under the Stars in Astoria Park?

Thanks to Astoria Park Alliance, free activities have continued to be offered to Astorians and New Yorkers alike. The 2017 season started with the successful Earth Day event that included over 20 sponsored local businesses.

The Great lawn will screen the first movie of the season, Academy Award winning La La Land (not best picture). Overlooking a beautiful sunset across the East River, the movie will begin at sundown, around 8:15PM on June 9th.

Moviegoers should bring their own blankets, and picnics for the inaugural movie night.

Movies Under the Stars is a perfect way to spend an evening, either among friends, family or curled up with a significant other. Enjoy the beauty of Astoria Park, the gorgeous skyline of Manhattan, and the acting chops of Hollywoods finest.

When: Friday, June 9th; 8PM

Where: Great Lawn, Astoria Park.
