Astoria Park Musical Walking Coming This June
Astoria Park Alliance [APA] in partnership with event producer and Astoria native, Jennifer Sellers, invites the community to take a journey through Astoria Park with a musical soundtrack on Saturday June 26, 2021, going live from 1-4pm. Enjoy multiple performances by local musicians as they each play various sets while you explore all that the park has to offer.
As the weather turns warmer and vaccines become available to the general public, APA is thrilled to curate an afternoon of live music throughout Astoria Park. Featuring live funk band, The Funk Unit, samba music with Os Clavelitos, live jazz with the Trifon Dimitrov Trio featuring Vincent Herring (Sax) and Jerome Jennings (drums) and art-pop performer, Virginia Marcs. Reconnect with yourself, friends and most important, nature.
The Astoria Park Walking Tour allows for a safe, socially distant opportunity to get outside in the sun with people you love, while enjoying a pastime many miss, live music and connectivity. We encourage all who attend to be conscious of your space, to wear a mask and sanitize hands often. Be sure to share your experience and view various live streams of the performances through #AstoriaParkMusic and #AstoriaMusic.
The Astoria Park Alliance exists to ensure the conservation and sustainability of Astoria Park for all New Yorkers. APA creates programming that reflects the cultural diversity of the community and we look ahead at the many opportunities for the community to connect back with APA by volunteering and creating new ways to be safe together, in Astoria Park.
