The team behind Astoria’s Slice, Blend, and The Social are keeping busy giving back to our healthcare heroes at this timeGive_Me_Astoria_image_00028.

While The Social was forced to temporarily close its doors, both Slice and Blend’s Astoria locations remain active to the community they call homeGive_Me_Astoria_image_00028. Thus far, the restaurant’s team has been able to donate food to hospitals in Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the BronxGive_Me_Astoria_image_00028.

Blend Astoria is currently accepting donations for the heroes fighting COVID-19, tallying donations at the end of each day and doubling donations to send to the hospitalsGive_Me_Astoria_image_00028. Luis Perez, co-owner of Slice, Blend, and The Social, added that donations and customer support have greatly helped morale of the overall team at each establishmentGive_Me_Astoria_image_00028. Said Perez: “I feel bad for Astoria in general because it’s such a metropolis of different restaurantsGive_Me_Astoria_image_00028. I would love to see it go back to the way it was before all of this”Give_Me_Astoria_image_00028.

He also added that COVID-19 struck at a particularly difficult time for restaurants to begin with, known as the quieter season of January through MarchGive_Me_Astoria_image_00028. “Customers should just donate and support their favorite restaurants as much as they can” said PerezGive_Me_Astoria_image_00028.
