5 NYPD officers who were responding to a reported robbery call got more than they expected when they arrived at a burning building.
The officers then quickly took action, rescuing two men, one 63 years old and in a wheelchair, according to NYPD.
The fire had made its way through the multi family home on 28th Street and 23rd Avenue at around 2:25p.m on Monday.
The Fire Department arrived shortly after, however the fire had gutted the building. The five officers had to be treated for inhalation.
Fire Battalion Chief Frank Poulin didn't say exactly what had caused the fire, however officials had cause to believe it was under suspicious circumstances.
