Meet Our Editor

Got News?

Have an interesting story to tell, tips, outstanding photos, or insider info? I want to hear from you! Are you opening a new restaurant? Or rolling out a new seasonal menu? Know an aspiring entrepreneur or outstanding Queen’s local? My name is Merissa Principe and I am the new senior editor at Give Me Astoria. From outstanding citizens like Eli Goldman, who’s helping feed the neighborhood, to the thriving pandemic businesses that gave this community new life, we have so much to be thankful for in our little borough of queens. It’s our pleasure to highlight and give back to the local businesses who have given us so much throughout the years.

Now, more than ever, is it pertinent to support small and budding businesses who survived or started new business ventures during the pandemic. In our publication, we want to highlight companies that were not only able to flourish during a pandemic but are setting the bar for what it means to be a true Queen’s local. After all, what would we be without our melting pot of diverse and upstanding citizens who make this community so great? With plenty of new
restaurants, developments, and artists emerging from the local Queens area, we are truly blessed to be able to call this small enclave of paradise home.

Currently, I’m looking for freelance writers who have a passion for food, culture, and, of course, Queens. In addition to welcoming new writers, I’m always looking for potential leads on interesting stories about new restaurants, cultural trends, hidden gems around the neighborhood, off-the-beaten-path activities, and outstanding locals throughout the local Queens area. If you think you know a business, company, or fellow entrepreneur, we want the inside scoop. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, feedback, or story ideas via email, [email protected].
