Food and Drink Specials For The 2016 Copa America Centenatio At Astoria Tavern!
The 2016 Copa America Centenatio or 2016 Centennial Copa America, is celebrating 100 years this year, making it the oldest international continental football competition, and the American Outlaws Queens is putting together the perfect celebrations.
16 teams from the Americas will compete in 10 cities across the U.S in 32 matches from June 3rd to June 26th.
The 100th celebration also marks another first, the first time the competition is hosted outside of South America, right here in the good old US of A.
The tournament is a collaboration between CONMEBOL (South American football confederation) – who has 10 teams playing, and CONCACAF (football confederation for North and Central America and the Caribbean) who has 6 teams, including team USA.
With so much at stake for USA, as hosts, its set to be one hell of a tournament, and Astorians will have a chance to enjoy it in style, with a massive launch party hosted by American Outlaws Queens at Astoria Tavern!
Wednesday May 25th, Astorians will get a chance to watch a friendly game between USA and Ecuador to kick off the tournament at 7pm.
There will be delicious complimentary food from none other than one of the best Deli’s in New York City, Sal, Kris and Charlie’s Deli, along with drink specials and plenty of beer for either team.
When deciding where to host the tournament in Astoria, there was no other choice for American Outlaws than Astoria Tavern. A staple of the community, it’s always been the perfect place for locals to come and share a beer or three, of the best poured Guinness in New York, all in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere dripping with mahogany and Irish flare. The 15 tv’s that adorn the walls will be where all the action plays as we cheer for team USA.
The Tavern will also play host to more than one game in the season, with three big games on the calendar:
June 3rd: USA vs Colombia
Time: 9.30pm
June 7th: USA vs Costa Rica
Time: 8pm
June 11th: USA vs Paraguay
Time: 7pm
Astorians are urged to come over and get into the spirit of football, the only way you can, with friends, friendly banter, food and of course – beer.
